The Place’s annual holiday party, the Winter Formal! What’s formal? Whatever you decide “formal” is–don’t ask us to define it, we’re busy (Yes, you still need to wear something.) Enjoy dancing and good company. Leb is giving a $L prize to the best male and female outfits, and also to the best snow-related story (start thinking now). Celebrate the end of 2011 with your fellow Callahooligans!

2nd Annual Callahan’s Place Yard Sale Fundraiser

Hello folks! It’s your yearly opportunity to clean out your inventories and to donate the extras to a good cause. The week of July 11th, the Place will once again use part of the sim to host its annual Yard Sale Fundraiser. All of the money raised goes directly to help pay the land costs for Callahan’s.

If you would like to help out by donating unused items, here’s what to do:

1) Make sure that the item has transfer rights.

2) Please give it to the Place bartender, Lebachai Vesta.

3) If anyone can assist with making a basic clothing vendor, Leb would be happy to take clothing donations as well. If she gets any volunteer(s) for this, she’ll post another notice saying that clothing donations can be accepted. Meanwhile, please hold off on clothing donations.

4) Shop the sale the week of July 11th!

As always, thank you for your willingness to help keep the Place funded!

Summer 2011 Schedule

Beginning in June, the Place moves to its summer schedule. That means that, instead of Trivia every Friday, it will be every OTHER Friday. The interim Fridays people are free to gather (as always!) socially, but there will be no formal event or Bartender. Tuesdays will continue to be held weekly on Tuesdays. Please keep an eye on the calendar (lower right of this site) for more up-to-date info.

The St. Patty’s season is upon us! Join us on Friday, March 11 at 5:30 pm SLT for our annual celebration of all things Irish, including dancing (doing the jig is optional) and a tall tales contest with a $L prize! Leb will also be giving away $L for the best St. Patty’s outfit. It’s the height of merriment with lots o’ green!

Is it love, or is it war?

In February, it’s both! Come dressed for love or come prepared for war, you decide. Meanwhile, we’ll be pitting the guys against the gals in a song-naming contest (how many love songs or ballads from the eighties do you know?). Compete for L$ with your teammates and enjoy the fun!

New theme nights for 2011!

We’re introducing a new series of events at the Place this year. Once a month, we’ll be having Theme Nights, to which you’re invited to dress your av for the theme and participate in a special activity to fit the theme. January’s theme is “Historical Characters.” Come as a character from history’s past and participate in a fun “Who said that?” quiz. Not to mention general merriment and comaraderie. Thursday, January 13th at 5:30 pm SLT. Come help us kick off this new series!
